Next Tut options

Hey guys.. looking over the forums and seeing what some of the suggestion are for new tuts.. what do you want me to do next?

Options

1) Rigging cartoon human character: joints, IK, hand-foot controls, Blendshapes for lip sync.

2) 4 legged animal either cartoony or real.. can go into rigging after as well. Dont think we have a indepth 4 legged tut other then the dog and frog.

Have drawing tuts planned out, just need to find the right video camera which will cover drawing basics, characters, and story boards.

as for tuts??

I dig to put the pirate ship on the ocean and animate it about

some thing like that

or..,

rather that a Si-Fi spider.., a realistic black widow would be good.., or to add fur.., a tarantula.., would be good.., rig it and animate it.

since I'm in the middle of a project involving a camel and want to try to animate it I'm going to have to put my vote towards a 4 legged animal with rigging...

pleeeeeeeease, what you did for the low poly character was great but what you proposed under point 1. is basically the same stuff that's in the low poly tut already.
I'd like to learn things like how to setup Ik/Fk switches. How to add deformers to a character.

im really looking forward for those drawing tuts. doing projects on my own without to be able to draw some basic image planes is a pain in the "abc".

if you have some tips for drawing from mind that would be cool.

in almost all cases the ability to draw from the mind will not just appear like that. What is required is practice, practice, and more practice.
You will have to draw from reference before you can draw from your mind freely.
If you are interested in drawing characters anatomy etc. do life drawing and do it on a regular basis and use what you have learned when you draw from your mind. Using a mirror for poses can help as well.
From my experience drawing tutorials can deliver technique, and give some good tips, but they will not teach you how to draw.

ps: hope this is the right language... Gottfried Bammes "die Gestalt des Menschen" ist ein exzellentes Buch um Körperanatomie zu studieren.

first of all: Danke schön Farbtopf. ich schau es mir mal an... für 79euro ist aber teuer, aber so ist das nunmal...

I know I know. Practice, practice, practice, like everything else. Right now Im tackeling Drawing on the Right side of the brain from Betty Edwards. After that I've got a book from loomis. I bought me a sketchbook to sketch on my way to work. Im not driving with a car... user added image

I'd say rigging and animating a quadruped (#2). There's not much of that out there!

while i definatly agree with "farbtopf" tho you might want to take a look at a fellow by the name of "Hogarth" he has about 3 or so books out all of which are good, but there is one called somthing like dynamic figure drawing ... its a real gem. however as has been said before ... all such books will only inform your work if you are putting in the practice harp harp harp
