Wrap along curve

Im sure this is basic but having trouble realising it.

How do you get an object such as a flat plane to deform along a curve?

I've tried motion path but the whole thing gets screwed up..

Ya, Im trying to wrap this paper sheet around a book.

I've been tring with ncloth for the last two weeks but for this scene I just want it to wrap around like a ribbon.

I agree with dave...or..you could upend the book...spine uppermost..then ncloth...then save state..upend the other way and ncloth but attach verts to the book so only the free ends will wrap...not sure if it would work though.

ctbrams tank tread would be the first option to try so I agree with dave....

Create a flow path object it adds a deformer to the mesh around a curve - no fuss job done!
