Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Image plane help

While modeling I have problems loosing my image plane in the perspective window. The image plane remains visible in the front view window. But somehow I loose the image in perspective view and end up with a gray rectangle.

Does anyone know have any suggestions how I can maintain the image plane in both perspective and front view windows?

Try hitting 6 on the keyboard.

one more question Kurt

That worked Kurt!

I have a question for you. Watching your video tutorials I notice you use the Hypershade window to set up image planes.

What is the advantag of creating image planes in Hypershade?

When I set up an image plane I select - View> Image plane> Image import in the window I am working in to get an image plane.

What is the advantage of process you describe in the videos with Hypershade and image plane creation?

I just find it faster and easier to set up. Either way works pretty much the same.
