Coming along nicely. Are you ever going to put that skin texture on it to see what it’ll look like?

Slave Drivers!!

Joking

Yeah got till sept now so i'll colour him up when I make some textures in PS and then apply them in Zbrush, just looking for some decent photos of shark skin and leather at the moment (leather for his hat) Or I might push the goal posts and actualy paint him without using any photo textures.

Really gonna try to get him all done for this challenge (Even thought its only a modeling challenge).

Steve

you can always use Zproject (not Projection Master) for painting textures from Images, its all done in 3d realtime. Theres a good tute for modeling and texturing on the Wiki, I seriously recommend it!

Though this may be worth mentioning. I was watching the making of Pirates 2, and they had a section on Davey Jones being textured at ILM, it occured to me that you could also incorporate the polystyrene cup effect to it to make it more calamari like....

Check the DVD out if you can

Cheers Jay,

I remember that on the DVD, ive been routing through my alphas to see if theres anything that I can use in there, then again it wont be too much of a hassle to scan in a cup or do a google.

I'm really thinking of hand painting this in Zbrush and then might use some of the projetion brush to give it some umph in the barnicle areas (as ive still got the photos!) and adding some detialing.

Just strarted back at uni, playing catchup on my thesis as I think that ive forgotten most of what I was doing, LOL!! Ive also been helping devise some lecturers that i'll be helping out in, i'll get back to this on friday me thinks!

Cheers for the Comments guys!

Steve

Quick bit of an update, been messing with alpahs on my coffee break this morning.

Was being a bit daft before, forgetting that I can use alpas direct on the model rartehr than going into the projection master!

Think I might re-do the detialing on his hat at dinner, and possible have another blast with alphas on him, see what he looks like.

Going to be doing some reading up on poly painting then give it a blast, mixing it with some photo ref.

Cheers

Steve
