I cannot see shadows through a transparent object

I have made a glass tabletop with a textured surface, it looks great.

The problem is that the shadows don't show through the table top.

The shadows look great, light is distorted by the glass. but looking through the glass, no shadows.

Can anybody tell me how to get shadows to show through the glass?

here is the mb file of the table:

Glass table.mb

Thanks!

hello

i think that you can select the tabletop and go into the attribute editor, then go to the render stats menu and turn off cast shadows, so the light will go through the table as normal and cast the shadow of the object.

hope that works

I tried disableing show shadows, that did not help.

The table is casting a shadow very nicely, the problem is that no shadows of anything show up when looking through the table.

Thanks for trying though

I think its in the settings-

under render settings, set the ray trace depths for everything up a bit

try changing the shadows to raytraced shadows with 0 light radius.
