All of Pixar's animations are done with in-house proprietary software called Marionette, not Maya.

Cool. I knew about mosters inc, but not toy story. I think it most 3d movies could be made easily in maya. But I havent really used any thing else. Besides C++.

I know it was rendered with renderman

renderman is an API (application programming interface) not a renderer. It was rendered with PRMan which is the commercially available software.

just so you know if anyone ever asks you user added image

As is says on A|W site, Ice Age was made in Maya. However, they do use HUGE plug-ins. Its about half plug-in writen just for what they want, and half actual Maya when they are done with it.

.. i was made in mayauser added image... too bad someone didnt render all the way. WHERES MY LEGS! *i need more medication*

on ice age at the end it shows the guys using maya doesnt it? they have some complex hard ware and software though. beyond what most of us could dream to afford.
