problem with FKIK arm

sorry for my poor english

i am having a problem in setting the FKIK arms for my characeter. right skeleton bends down when I rotate it upward...here is a pic..

Sorry no ones helped you yet. Sometimes it may take awhile before someone who knows the answer reads your thread. I havn't done any skeleton's yet but just wanted to let you know your thread IS being viewed.

I'll see if I can recreate your problem and come up with a solution but I can't promise anything. In the meantime, keep reading those help files just in case nobody can help you.

- Persistence will get the job done -... that's what's in your sig, so he was doing exactly that what u use on every post u make.

and about Kuweekee..... it's the sound of a creature in a game for the psp.... that's all i'm gonna tell u about it.... ( and that's more than i let most people know)... u just have to find it out for yourself

Two Reasons:
1. I never suggested that he stop asking for replies.
2. He's a newbie and sounded a little concerned that nobody was going to reply. My comment was only to give him assurance that his thread was getting attention.

Edit: Kuweekee...now you've really got me curious (hehe)

jaiwalia: My apologies if my post made you feel like you couldn't ask for replies. I was only trying to let you know that you didn't post your thread in vain and sometimes it can take awhile to get the right answers. Please feel free to ask for replies as much as you like. And, thanks to SilverBlood, I'll try to work on wording my statements better. : )

Also, since my first post on this thread, I've downloaded every free rigging/set up tutorials I could find. As I was going through one of them last night, I THINK I've finally duplicated your issue. I have a knee joint going 90 deg in the wrong direction. Might have something to do with joint orientation and/or transformations but not sure yet. Will work on it some more tonight.

Silverblood - I cant see whats wrong with Perfecto's response, all he was saying it that it might take a bit for a reply to come, chill man.

As for the problem I think its when your local rotations on the joints axis dont match the axies of the control objects (or you might have not frozen the transforms and history of the control curves before adding the constriants), as ive not got maya open at the moment I cant really give it a test.

If you have already figured out the problem, I'd be interested to know what it was.
