Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Joopson's morrowind add-ins

hey y'all! (sorry, I'm not really from the south... user added image )

anyway, i spent 15 minutes or so making a fence to use in my mod for morrowind, and here is what i got. really simple, but it serves its purpose.

and the in game:

im going to try to (hence this thread) create or recreate some basic elements in morrowind to create a unique look to it for when i finally get further into my "blackened isles" morrowind mod. my goal is to make my final mod a bit more mine than if i were to use there models.

i am starting small with that fence, and i will model something else tomorrow and try to knock something off the list every day. should be fun. feel free to leave comments and questions.
thanks
-Andy

i started a barrel:

10 minutes of work on it so far. i still need to add depth to those metal parts, and maybe work on the plumpness of the barrel

for the mod i am going to change the basic things (barrels, fences, and other things,) and then i am going to add a city to north-Eastern Vvardenfell using all the things i am changing/making.

its basically so i get better at the editor. right now, im kind of lacking at using it.

my blackened isles mod is linked in that thing below my posts, so if you want to, check it out.

thanks for the interest.

its weird, it looks different in game then it does in the screen shot. it looks alot better in the game itself. probably Gamma stuff... who knows. anyway:

The game engine probably doesn't render exactly the same as Maya does, that's why. They may calculate light a bit different etc.

By the way you should bake occlusion into the textures, looks a lot better.

I just bought Oblivion this last weekend and I'm am SO hooked on it right now! I was a huge Morrowind fan back in the day and I'm reminded now why. user added image Mods are great, I've already got like a dozen running on Oblivion and it really adds a lot

morrowind is great for modding, but now its a bit low-tech.
honestly, i never really play it much. i have never played it through, i just like how it looks.

Oblivion is great, but i cant mod it because of maya... user added image

dont know, it just wont let me import it into Oblivion. it gives me an error, even though i had all the settings correct.

i have gotten them in before, but the textures werent working, nor could i get them to work.

it would work, but its too much trouble for me.
