Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Looking really good!

im an (almost) complete Newbie, just wondering... How did you start it off ? Was it through a Box then Extruding face's ? Also the tie fighter has alot of (what looks like extruded faces) how do you start them off (ie get the correct shape for extruding) or is this simply done with extruding tool too ?

Sorry if im asking too many questions user added image

Yeah the x-wing was made by creating a cube, splitting it up and then extruding faces until i get the shape i want. The body was then converted to sub-d.

I've got another update that i'll upload in the morning.

very nice...impressive details on the texturing

I think they would look cool on a starfield background, maybe a couple of distant planets and some motion blur to give the illusion of a speedy dogfight...

The idea is to have them flying down one of the channels on the death star.
