Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Modeling, IK: Rotating does the wrong things!

Hi!

I have a problem in Maya: I have just built the bones and IK of a hand. I binded the skin to the bones. This works fine, so far. Here is a testfile: https://mitglied.lycos.de/xtension_mirror/forum/forum.mb
(File is also attached in this thread)

The thing is, that, if I want to rotate or translate the hand, the hand moves in an other way than the bones.
Even if I put them together into one group, it moves itself in different directions or in the right direction but with the wrong angle (I think it´s always half he way)
Please help me!

Thank you very much!

Try detaching the skin then reattach it again, but ofcourse after
setting the bone to bind pose.
Give it a try.
