yeah but 1 thing i takes like a ton of ploygons so try i try not to do it that much, well i like never do it.

Whats the problem?? Do you ge tto the calcualte displaement area then it crashes? That happened to me. Try using a poly plane rarther than a nurbs plane.

If you were not to transform the displacement to polygons, how can you go by increasing or decreasing the displacement of the material? The Displacement value is readonly and has a yellow background ( Maya 8 )
