Lacking of shadow on a certain object

Hi everybody,

user added image

In the above image I want the shadow on the left hand effects water but not the ground (where water is).
any solution?

You could probably turn off "receive shadows" for the floor. Unless you want the particles to cast shadows on it, then you may have to render out some shadow passes.
