Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

nice, fast render for w.i.p...

do you have any trick to do a nice and fast render for when your model is still a wip and you dont want to spend much time on the render.please say something other than a simple clay render.

could try the JI_Joe plugin

otherwise i use screendumps or a software render with a couple of lights


Now at SMU doing BSc 3D Computer Animation so its hard to get on here

I would download the CTRL_Shading shader from CGtalk.com and use it instead of my lambert, then use the Oversampling Lens lens shader, added on to a standard Clay render.

Those two things have decreased render time by more than half.
