Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Copy UVs from one object to another

hi,

is it possible to copy uvs from an object to another that has not the same topology?
For example i have 2 houses. The only difference is that one house has a chimney.
If i could copy the UVs it would save a lot of time and the only thing i must texture at the new object would be the chimney.

its possible.
but the tools are not shipped with maya. you'd have to get some plugin.

but you can bake color from one object to the other
