Vehicle: Sea Fang

Ok I got bored of the sandcrawler so here is my latest piece. I've been working on this for 4 days and the modelling is almost finished. Just got some tidying up and poly reducing to do and then it's done and on to uv mapping.

Looking good. I am a bit of an aviation fan myself. I love the ww2 style aircraft.

That is cool. My dad used to have all these planes hanging from the ceiling on strings in our den as I was growing up.

Im thinking of doing a helecopter...

You should either duplicate it, or make another variation and have a small dogfight.

textures are coming, I spent last night rigging the bloody thing and figuring out loads of stupid little problems with the mesh. It's not as accurate as I would have like but it will do I think. All I need to do now is decide on the colours...

Alan, what the hell is a Sea Fang when it's at home? I've never heard of such a plane... Out of interest did you start modelling this out of NURBS then switch to polys or was it polys right from the start? I did a FW190 in NURBS but it was a bit of a pain.

Sea Fang was the name on the blueprints user added image iT kind of looks like a Suez plane that I have in a reference book. Except the other one doesnt have the double prop. I never model in nurbs, it's all polys apart from some tubing etc.

I'll have updates soon.

I never model in nurbs

Any reason why? Just don't like them, or are they too painful for you?
