Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Hi stwert
I liked it only crit would be the bigger ball does not compress it self as much to bounce if you get what I mean..........dave

Thanks daverave... are you saying the bigger ball should squish more? I was trying to keep it a bit more rigid, more like a cartoony bowling ball. Originally I had no squash/stretch on it at all, but it looked too static compared to the smaller ball.

That's interesting dave, cause I got another comment that the heavy ball should have much less squash, haha.

Im not saying you are wrong but with the little ball you can see were it gets the power to move, if I were to try what you are doing I think I wood look into maybe the ball spinning to get power or maybe a coil spring under it...........only suggestion and still like your animation.....dave

i thought the large ball looked fine. don't think it needed any thing else to sell it. i wasn't too concerned where its power was coming from.
The only thing i didn't like was the camera in some shots. you should have changed the lenes. i thought there was too much background and less focus on the balls.

Thanks hammer. Do you mean actually changing the camera attributes? Or just framing the shot better. Don't have enough experience with photography to understand all the camera stuff, but I can see your point about too much background.

Im on the fence with the big ball compression, it looked ok in parts and not enough overall BUT still good.

I thought there was a little too much background in the beginning stwert but overall I dont think it affected the end result.

BTW it was PISS FUNNY mate....Im still laughing!!! Kinda like a Blackadder story, works like hell with Baldric but still ends up with a crappy result at the end. For those who dont know, Blackadder was a fine British comedy...loved him.

yeah, just change the focal length of the camera. you don't really need to change anything else.
have a play around with them... maybe start with a 52mm
