I've been banging my head against the wall with this for a long time now, the results are not good, the mesh is crap, but I won't waste more time with it.

Not much of an update as i've spent most of the day playing video games instead. I'll try and do the lighting for the next render.

not sure at all....check if there is a face INSIDE the mesh itself right where the seem is....if there is ...try deleting it

If you are using a mesh smooth or subd-conversion, see to it that your edges are evenly distributed, if you have two or more in a tight space you will get seams. If not, just tweak the vertices until it looks about right. Good luck, and good job so far.

Ahh... NURBS... that is a quite different matter (wrote my reply inbetween). I'm no guru on nurbs, best get some advice from someone who is.

Experimenting with lighting, this will not do, but something like it might. I gotta get rid of the grainy shadows too (area light).

heh, awesome look to that render fredriksson. Same to you ckyuk.. your stuff is looking wonderful! For that keyboard why dont you just convert it to poly's and then delete out those curves. Great stuff though so far guys!

y'all are doing an awesome job...i'd love to see both of you move on to the next round! As far as the nurbs keyboard...it would help to see a wire frame. Maybe try the sculpt surfaces tool (like sculpt polygon toon - under edit Nurbs) and try to smooth out the creases...you can also delete isoparms (by hitting backspace or delete). Don't know if any of that helps.

I'll try converting the keyboard to polys to smooth out those seems and if that doesn't work then i'll try using the sculp tool.
