Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

easier way to slice a poly

Ok there has got to be an easier way to slice several poly faces at a time.

In 3dmax there was a slice modifier....but to use the splitpoly tool and click and click and click if you have a lot of faces is time consuming is there another way to slice several polys at the same time? Or perhaps a script that does this?

Thanks Grayth

Edit Polygons > Cut Faces. Same as the slice plane in Max.

The only script I know of is the facePathSplit script from the Bonus Game pack. It basically splits a row of faces right down the center with one click. Try searching for facePathSplit in this forum. You might be able to find one of my posts where I had just that particular script instead of the entire pack. If you can't find it there, try searching on Alias's site or google.

hopethathelps
