Maya Software and Hardware rendering

Hey

I've got the following. I'm using a fire effect and a smoke effect. Now by default the fire uses Maya Software and the smoke uses Maya Hardware. If I select my renderering method (Software/Hardware), only one effect gets rendered. How do I make them both use Maya hardware or how can I get them to render at the same time.

Thanks

I think that you cant... You have to do the render 2 times then combine them in a composition software.

Well instead of using the Maya smoke effect which uses sprites, you could do your smoke with clouds which render in software. Then you could render them together.
