Scaling after Rotation

Hello all,

I am doing the Pirate Ship Tutorial right now and i have a little prblem.

When i make a cobe for the wooden boards in the front of the ship i keep messing up by scaling the cube to the right size and then rotate it. THen it might not be the right size and if i scale again the scaling tool is all waky and scales in a wierd direction.

It looks like the scaling tool got rotated too.

In the tutorial this doesnt happen. Can someone tell me what i am doing wrong?

Thx a lot in advance.

If you rotate an object then the scale tool will keep the local co-ordinates of the object, to revert to world co-ordinates you would have to freeze transformations (modify /freeze transformations ) it's not a good idea to freeze transformations until you have completed all your scaling of the object since if you scale you would want to be in local axis mode.
