Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Bi-rail making 1/2 surface?

Hi guys,

I've setup 4 curves, 2 of them closed and 2 path curves so i can make a car's side mirror with NURBs and then convert it back to polies.
You can see the 4 curves in the attached pic part 1.
Now when I use the Birail2 or 3+ (both give same results with this), i select the 2 closed curves as my profile curves (part 2), then i select the other 2 curves for the paths.
But the tool only makes the bottom half of the surface? Anyone know how to make it do the top half as well?

thanks for any helpuser added image

MAybe you should try to lofting them. Inserting some curves in middle and then lofting. It should give almoust same result.

the reason i'm doing a birail is because i need maya to do all the shape blending and curving for me.
is it common for Birails to screw up when using closed curves?

this is extra strange, because i previously was able to get the top half of the mirror surface before i curved the path curves in the y-axis. but after that i can only get the bottom half...
