creating court net

I'm interested in making a basketball court enviroment, like streets, buildings in the background, stairs benches anything i can think of, the only thing that i dont know how to do is an easy way to create the surrounding net that surrounds the court, the only thing that came up to my mind was to extrude faces and delet the unnecceray ones but that'll take years and it doesnt give me the narrow net effect i want, so any ideas?
