Welcome to Free Fridays on Simply Maya!

Every week we'll be adding a new free tutorial to this section of the forum (the first one being delayed a few days by Christmas). We'll be covering all the different fields of Maya here and we just kicked this off with MEL Scripts & Modeling - Creating a Golf Ball with GeoSphere by ctbram. Enjoyuser added image

Any comments or questions on these tutorials can be added in the relevant thread, so if you'd get stuck on something please let us know and we'll help you out on the topic. Feedback is also very welcome user added image

I shall ask my humble servants user added image Nice shadows is one of those things that come with good light design though, there isn't really a script. The best thing to do is make real world observations of what motivates different types of shadows and use good photographic references to try and replicate this in 3D. Have a look at this;
