Funniest Digital Media question ever

I know with all the Maya pros out there, there has to be one or two funny comments someone said to you...

One guy asked me to do a video logo for his team of some sort -- and asked me to animate two images which together would make a single image... and the animation be the video logo.

So I got one of the images... then he said "Hey, for the 2nd image, I'll make it really high res" I thought, "Cool, make the quality a bit better"... ...

Nope -- aparently what he meant by "high res" was take out the alpha channel so I cannot super impose the two images properly (I suck at keying-out backgrounds) and scaled the picture in like -- MS paint to 800x600 or something. I mean, it had to have been scaled at least a good 400% because it was lossy as heck.

Ended up getting it done though -- I went into Rhino, modelled a replica of what it SHOULD have been (through the Jaggies and JPEG compression), and then used that for the animation... he was happy but was kind-of baffled why his "high res" picture wasn't good enough.

--- I didn't have the heart to tell him. :b

Anyone else got any funny stories?

I once did a Flash banner for a guy. It was really nice, had graphics, text effects, everything... He paid me good money for it. A few days later, he contacts me and informs me that the forum he wanted his banner on wouldn't accept flash .swf's. He asks me for an animated gif. I tell him a gif that encompasses all the animation the flash file does would amount to about 2 MG's, plus you wouldn't have the interactivity I incorperated into the flash file. He later settled for a simple still jpg image.

Another one:
Him: Hi, I need a game designed in Flash.
Me: Alright, what kind of game are you looking for?
Him: 2D first person shooter where users can submit their scores, 10 levels, original music for each, 5 different guns, and a fancy intro animation.
Me: Ok, how soon do you want it?
Him: This Wednesday. (two days from now) And I can't pay more than $50 for it.

-_-

him: "We need three poster concepts for the upcoming conference."

me: "What do you want on them?"

him: "I don't know."

me: "Do you have a theme?"

him: "Not yet."

me: "What style should they be in?"

him: "I don't know."

me: "What visual elements should be included?"

him: "Oh you know, the usual."

15 versions latter, we ended up taking posters from the previous year and basically changing the dates. Grrrr, indeed.

Me: Its a circle...

Them: Yeah just round it out more.

Me: You want an oval

Them: No it must be a circle. Just round it out more.

Me: You want.. a bigger circle.

Them: No the size is right. Just make it smoother and rounder...

Me: You want it shaded? almost 3d looking?

Them: No flat like it is there. But rounder...

Me: Um.... im going to go now.. im not coming back.

Look at these responses:

Plain Text: It's too plain.
Shadowed Text: It's too dark.
Light Shadowed Text: Can't see any difference :S
Outlined Text: Nice, different font.
Outlined Nicer Text: Bigger.
Outlined Bigger but Nicer Text: Ok this is it, now write it in greek.

:/ That font didn't support greek :S

I ENDED UP making a same style text using vectors user added image
