Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Help Rendering

Hiya, I just put together a Doom3 model, when I render it, it looks like the polys are sticking out, and the whole thing looks more boxy, also the color is way off. I dont understand it, How can I make it look like it looks in the modeling view?

Render as is maybe? You need to give us a LOT more to go off of than that. My guess -- smoothing and UV issues.

How would I go about rendering as is? anyway, im running maya 6 using mental ray. Ive went around changing every render option and nothing I can do will make it look as good as in my model view. Im using IFF images for an output.

well, u wont have to worry about the renders since its a game model. if it looks good in the viewport, then thats good. since this is most likely how it will look in the game engine.
