Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Need 'em to look younger.

Hi folks, I need some advice on these heads.

They are by no means complete and I still need to do sculpt and smooth them.

Vertices will be merged in the corners of the mouths when I convert to polys.

But I'd like some advice on how to make them look younger.

I've been deforming and sculpting but I cant get it right. Any advice?

Thanks,

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

In general, making a human face look younger would mean smoothing out the features. Smaller nose ... definately the bridge of the nose would be less pronounced. Making eyes larger can have a dramatic effect as well. Rounding the jaw line and smoothing down the chin and brow. Smaller yet fuller lips ... thin neck ... How young are you trying to go?

Id get the proportions right first as the mouthis way out and the brows look a little too flat.

As for getting them to look right, are you using good old fashion reference?
