This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Visibility of Objects

Does anyone have a Mel script or know a way to make an object fade from visibility to invisibility or vice versa. Maybe have an attribute that you can just change the percent. Im not talking about the transparency of an object by the shader because i dont think you can animate the transparency with that method. Or maybe you can. Can someone help me, please?user added image

a very popular method (at least, I like it. user added image ) is to create a locator, add a transparancy attribute to it, and use Set Driven Key to manipulate the transparancy of an object by its shader. This is discussed in a couple of the VIP vids we have. I know the Shark and Monster Head vids do such methods.
