Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Website - Gohtel

Alright, i have decided to keep you guys up to date here at SM with Gohtel. Gohtel has been ran several other times and the names been with me for a couple years. Anyways, it was a dragonball z site, then it converted over to a game ladder site, then it converted over to a tutorial site, and now i am going to do a final website.. that i truly dont want to have to totally redesign.. instead, a new layout maybe once every few months. You can check out my splash image here:

Ok, well I just talked about it with a few buds on msn.. and I think I will be going with a Personal Portfolio. Mostly all HTML and PHP. I MAY encorperate flash for a few special effects user added image. Just if flash isnt used right, it looks awful... finniky stuff. If you have any other idea I would like to hear it, or if you have any idea that you think would be cool supporting the portfolio site idea, i would like to hear about that as well user added image.

Alright, I decided to do the personal portfolio for sure, and so i have been working on a genearal layout for that, that most people dont see every day. Its not 56k friendly.. but then again, the renders on the site (when i get more)..wont be either. So i kinda forgot about that aspect (loading time).. yet still have made anything bluntly obvious as fast as i can.. such as repeating patterns, and lowest quality before you start seeing a change. Tell me what you think C+C welcome.. and i would really like some ideas user added image.. btw.. this is a opening page, when you click on the enter sign once the site is up.. it will eliminate the middle bar that spands across with the golem in it.. and it will keep the bar on the left.. and then probably run links along the left side of the bar, and then have the info on the right.. hard to explain.. i will try to post updates later next week user added image. Cya.

Heres the link.

Its not public at the moment, only here on sm... so your the first to see user added image.

Looks great! I like the color choice.

I am no expert on design, but here is my input.

The first thing my eye goes to is your golem, and then it took me a few moments to find the "enter" button. Would it help a user to have the enter button somewhere near you golem since that is what draws your attention first?

Again, I am design stupid so bear that in mind.

Besides, I might need some Photoshop help from you here real soon... user added image

user added image.. thanks hidalgo for the responce... I was such a moron and i was SURE that the layout was 800x600 compatible.. but low and behold its a BIT too big.. so i might have to tweak the size and whatnot to run in that 800x600 mode. Thanks a lot for the imput.. i definately agree. I think what i will do is maybe have the enter button there.. but also make the golem image able to just link right to the site. So people can either go to the site through the image, or the text. I run in a super high res like i have said a few times (well not too high).. but it throws off my webdesign a bit sometimes... its going to need some tweaking. Thanks again user added image.

PS. Hidalgo, if you need any help just PM me, i can guide ya through to the best of my ability. user added image.

Alright, I have now finished the design for the opening page:

https://www.gohtel.com/website/index.htm

Now I have finished the BASIC layout for the main website, everything else will be based on this design:

https://www.gohtel.com/website/main.htm

C+C welcome, pretty soon that bar will be loaded with links all going downwards to news and updates. Also, the side will have some more links and the main part where the links comes up will have a design in the middle for displaying info user added image.

I like it so far!

It loads very fast. Do you use software to do this or are you one of those people that can code HTML right out of their brains?

Thanks a lot hidalgo, its like a conversation between you and me user added image. Lol, yea i have learned how to make stuff load faster over the years. BTW.. up to the point you have seen, has been mostly done with dreamweaver.. I can code all of it though, just im sorry... theres no point in me doing it when i can save hours doing it through dw. After this point though i will be adding all the info with notepad, and the code. So in a way, yes its done with software, but do i need it? Nah.. tables if you can visualise it are quite easy to write.. just you cant forget what you have and stuff user added image. I will use notepad because it wont screw it up after this point. Thanks again for the reply.

Not a problem dude.

HTML boggles my mind and I'm impressed as hell when somebody can do it.

Although, everything is relative. I have over 1,000 self-defense techniques and over 20 forms memorized from 3 different systems.

Looking forward to more updates from your site!

Yea, it all comes with practice hey? HTML of course if you really look into it.. is quite simple to memorise.. seeing you only need to know a few tabs, and then have experience. The martial arts you are in is at such a higher and different level. Hidalgo.. i have been in martial arts as you know.. and 1000 selfdefence techniques and 20 forms memorised... that is truly amazing. If anyone doesnt realise this... this is the equivilence of a 3d GOD and a programming god combined!

Ok, now i really really need peoples help on this last part... I think i am done for overall layout and content format. If anyone has any ideas for what i should put in the content area (basically where all the info loads).. then let me know user added image.. also, im wondering, do you think this is ready for the public? And, do you think i should get a cool loop, that is soft and not too hardcore and jagged.. and put it in a flash file down in the bottom left corner with a play and stop button? Just so that people, if they want.. can have the theme music to the site? Ok, yea.. so any suggestions would be great... or just if you could tell me if it needs something else, or if its ready for the web. Thanks user added image.

I like the site so far. I, personally, am not too fond of music playing on a web page, only because I usually have winamp going when I'm surfing anyway.

I'll take a closer look at your content and give you a critique soon. My brain is oozing out of my ears now so it's time to sleep...
