Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

cloth not working when root joint is animated

i have a rootjoint and below that is my hip joint.

i made 2 cloth objects and parented it to the hip jiont so it moves with it. the cloth works just fine.

but every time i animate the root joint the cloth doesn't move any more, even after i create a new cache.

do i need to batch render to see work? what am i doing wrong here? this has been bugging me for about 1/2 a year now.

everything else works fine. like if i animate the arms and legs.
but just not that root joint.

can't really do a walk cycle if i can't move it's center of gravity.

Post a pic up...sounds like you need to constrain the cloth to something to have it follow the character....

here's a pic.

the 2 cloth objects are transformed constraint to the hip.

just when i animate that root controller it doesn't simulate.
