UV - texture HELP

Hi
how can i create a perfect texture and UV for this model ?
It´s a simples model.

I was learning about modeling and now i´m moving to the textures...

I know a little bit about Setting UVs and i can create one for it (just don´t know the best way), but what i didn´t learn yet is how to make the textures "flow" and be continuous / seamless.

I would like to understand the theory of unwrapping polygons.

I also have saw somethings about baking texture but don´t know what if this is the way.

When i UV this model i can texture 3 parts but i don´t know how to make them connect to the other faces.

Thanks RockyMills_01
i already saw this tutorial. It´s good but doesn´t cover the seamless texturing. The texture of the top doesn´t really connect to the cylindrical shape.
