Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

July/August - norm - happymat27

Hello everyone,

I've finally got my maya license transferred to my spangly new computer (5 days after my initial request!!!!!) so I can, at last, start this competition.

The words that were given to me are.........

poor supply

I'm not too sure what It's going to be yet but I'll have a think and post ideas shortly.

Good luck everyone,

Mat.

I'm going to make a start on this today, hopefully you should see some progress very soon. I'd post my rough sketches but I'm too lazy to install my scanner software on my new computer!!

Cheers,

Mat.

Hello again,

as promised here's a screengrab of where I'm at. In the famous words of Rolf Harris 'Can you tell what it is yet?'

Cheers,

Mat.

Thanks folks,

Hopefully I won't mess it up when it comes to texturing!!

I've made a skeletal hand to put in the scene, all the bones are there even if they aren't exactly the right shape. It's very simply rigged so that I can pose it in the scene.

Cheers again,

Mat.
