Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

First learn how to use a compass before you choose a path.

You cant steer blind into one direction and ignore everything else.

First learn the basics then when you feel comfortable you might know more about what you want to work with, and then choose.

Ive, never seen entertianment tonights opening so I couldent comment.

A great software to use for something like opening titles would be After Effects, coupled with maya.

For working in VFX, i would advise learning to model very very well and learn to texture very very well, then learn how to animate very very well. Once thats done then learn After Effects as its an industry standard application.

Actually go to uni that caters for it, as its a long road your looking to travel.

vfx doesnt require for a lot of modeling or texturing.

he might want to look into scripting/programming, dynamics, and shading/lighting/rendering.

my 2 cents
