absolute beginner

Hi guys,
have just done first tutorial in Maya, can any one reccomend the best books and videos to purchase please to carry on learning the program

The tree frog tutorial here is really good, i'd suggest you get that one for organic, and the jedi fighter is fun if you want to learn how to do hard surface modelling.
plus any other tutorial at this site :p

I also really liked digital tutors introduction to maya.. as they cover a whole lot of the basics of maya. And the learning maya books series is pretty good :attn:

I own almost every Alias Learning Maya Book...they are great references and really help you learn a lot about everything from the foundations to organics to rendering and special effects...

I started with the Alias Learning Maya 7: Foundations book...your local Barnes and Noble should have it...

3dbuzz.com has actually maya courses. which is awesome. you could do that.

yeah, 3dBuzz is awesome...i've downloaded every vtm that's available for free...no, i don't care waht program it is :p
some cool stuff in there. i like the concept art vtms as well.
