Uvs and applying textures

I have layed out my uv's and saved it as a jpeg so i can apply skin textures to my charcter in photoshop. Only problem is I don't know how to go about placing this back onto the charater, or am I going about this all wrong.

Any suggestions are much appreciated

well, if youve exported your UV snapshot from your UV texture editor and youve created your texture according to your map, you just assign your map to the texture node of the object. Go in to hypershade and tell the color of your node to use file. point it to your texture. if you did it all right your texture will line up just right.
