The Hydrolock

I'm just getting started on this fella, and I thought it might be fun for me to post it as I go... Be forwarned that by the time this thread is done, it'll probably have a ton of large images... user added image

If you want to see my initial concept art on this character, it can be found at my website in the 2D Art section. Last two images at the bottom of the page. user added image Address in sig.

This is about an hour and a half or so... started from a cube user added image

Unfortunately, I recently lost my contracting job, so I currently have a bit more time than I'd like. user added image

So, I'm trying to add what I hope will be my flagship portfolio piece... this guy will hopefully become a high-res model suitable for cinematics ( ala Blizzard, although realisticly, I don't expect to be that high in quality... but to get as close as I can. user added image ).

Probably won't end up animating him, as it would require some pretty complicated cloth simulation, and I haven't really figured cloth out to that extent... we'll see what happens, though.

Sorry to hear about the contracting gig, hopefully you can turn it into a positive user added image

Cool little guy, gonna have some character to him!

Darkon

Red bellows of flame have blackened my stones
Convulsing my frame and cracking my bones
Hell's dragons of steel who roar in their chains
Crawl into my caves to suck out my veins.....
