Medieval Ages - )v(

Hey, im a bit late entering this competition and I think I posted this in the right spot, if not can you move it to where it should be? Thanks. Ok anyways I decided to model a Golem (fantasy type character). Below is my sketch of it, very rough and has little detail.

I am entering as NEWBIE

Alright, this is where I am standing at the moment. I am having troubles with the smoothing part of it. I think i am missing a key factor but I am trying to model bricks that come out a bit from his chest, but i cant get it right, can anyone tell me an effective way to add a bit of smoothness to rough edges but not totally make everything round.. thanks.

the more initial geometry you have, the more the smooth will maintain the general shape.

Kev- Sounds like a Tools Vid could be done with Smooth! user added image

Oh, can anyone please give me some suggestions on this model? I am currently working on the torso and hips and legs at the moment. But if you see anything thats wrong, or any ideas please give me a shout.

Now its time to pull out the RedBull energy drink and keep on going!

Heres another image with his body more complete. I was wondering how I would go about getting some of these creases out of his chest. It happens whenever I try to smooth out the object. Also just letting you know what I have planned, I will use materials for the mouth below the eyes, If that doesnt work i will do light extrudes and make something that looks a bit like a mouth.

Hey man that looks like it has some potential to be really good, but maybe it needs a little more detail in the head area. Try adding some eyeballs in the head and maybe even a nose and mouth, here is a good eyeball tut i found around here on some other posts.

Have fun and good luck !

Thanks Shiver, I will work on the eyes when my golem has more objects on his body. As for now I finally attatched his body with these other 2 parts, it was my first time attatching and well, it wasnt too bad but then again it took me a hour or 2, with tweaking inbetween. Ok, here is a wireframe of my model, yet it wont really come out that good because i have a lot of extrudes :p.

https://64.180.100.76/public/personal...golemwire1.jpg

So all of that is attatched, except the head because I have plans for that and I dont want to just yet user added image. Any feedback would be nice, suggestions if possible.

PS. By tonight i should have the legs and maybe arms started

Hey, Ok its time for me to go to bed. This is Day 2 of my golem and hes coming along nicely (i think its day 2). Anyways I worked on the body and the legs and made sure to properly attatch them together. The leg needs a ton of work around the joint and i think the leg needs to be scaled down a bit, right? thanks.

Ok its the start of a new day, I mirrored the leg and attatched that on as well. The whole mesh down from the head is one piece. Also i painted in Photoshop his eyes, to give it a bit of a darker effect.

It's definitely getting there. Nothing like a little time pressure to get the old juices flowing...
