Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Oooh, looking nice... you have that "eery" look to it so far even with your lighting... BUT... i think for the first few renders until you have a bit more detail.. you should be doing a render on a more lighter bg. (HOTBOX>View>Camera Attribute Editor>Enviroment drop down box>scrollbar). Coming along great though!

It's looking good, any chance of a wire? also just noticing that the top of the torso looks a little large when compared to the waistline. Unless of course you are going for a hero type body in which case it's about right.

Looking forwards to seeing more.

Started again, top of the body was too large and i couldn't be bothered trying to scale it back.

Anyone happen to have any low poly wireframe shots of abs? I just can't seem to get my head around em as you might tell by the pics below.

Made the ear for it, outside is edgy as it's not attached to anything.

Update, redid the abs, cos they just looked pretty crap in my opinion & i've done them so there's less faces there aswell. I've just got to make the middle two look a little less rectangular.

Here's the latest version of the body:
