i like B also. ill just have to adjust the exposure in hdrShop.
Matt: thats the low rez cage mesh, just to speed up render time.

when you use hdri, do you plug your hdri in the color channel and in the ambient channel or only in the ambient channel.how did you get that great render?

Heheheh I guess all's been said already.

I hesitated long time between B and C (cause I liked the general exposure with bright areas on top in C) , but as you'll surely add some tiny sun strikes with lights to get some glows and volumes lights ... well, eager to see where you bring this already great piece ...

so I'll vote for B.

i use the mental ray feature called "IBL" its in the render globals for MR.
there u can adjust the settings. i left all at defaults, i just scaled my hdri down a bit

Well, not to be a sheep, but I would say 'B' as well ... but I think that 'E' could be an interesting render when all is said and done. Most of them look too dark to me.

Yeah, I'm fickle ... after a second look I like G. It has the elements I like from both B and E ... more balanced ... OK, carry on ...
