Kurts Cartoon dog.

Hey, I am a qualified newbie, and I am trying to make the cartoon dog, by Kurt.

But I am having some problems, so far I´ve finished nurbs I have converted into polygons and I have cleaned up almost everything, exept now I am at the jaw, which I am having some problems with. When I look at it it looks just like kurt`s, I mean my whole dog looks like it, but when I convert em into polygons, my polygons look totaly difrent then his, his looks pretty nice eventhough he hasn`t begun "cleaning em up", but mine look like crap and if I try to fix it a little it only makes things worse, so I´m kinda stuck.
I mean my polygons looks like crap especially my jaw, compared to kurts... I have no idea what I`m gonna do, any help on this would be great, thanks user added image

make sure your coversion setting for nurbs to polygons are reset then change the conversion type to control points

I have and did all of that, but I think it`s just that I am a modeler nooby so it´s probably just crappy modeling, eventho i spent like.. 1 hour on modeling each part, haha. Well thanks anyways user added image

I had this same problem when I did the tutorial. Im am likewise a newbie and have poor modeling skills. I found that my problem was my control vertexs. When you convert (like sspikedudley said), your new geometry is fit to ur cvs. If you could try to "clean up" the vertices and not focus on your nurbs being exact to the ref image but instead the CVs it might help.

Thanks guys, but the whole thing is a mess.. I decided to start over.. and everything went perfect.. I mean everything was all nice untill I converted into polygons.. everything went nicely again, untill I got to the jaw.. and that screwd it all up.. and now I have no way of going back.. because I tried to many things with it.. I´m such a noob.

Dont feel sad about it. I think Kurt even mentions several times in the tutorial about early modeling skills. Did he not say dont worry about your modeling skills yet, espicially if your just starting out. If he didnt say it then, then he should have. Dont worry, you can only get better if you keep practicing.
