Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Plugins for older versions of Maya

There is a plug-in for Maya 3 and 4 that allows you to create models for an old video game. Is there a way to get older plugins to work with newer versions of Maya? or would the plug-in need to be modified?

They may work depending on what they need to access in the API.

Wow, I really wasn't expecting any replies on this, just hoping. I can't wait to try it out, thank you very much.

No. The plugins will not work regardless of their calls to the API. If you want it to work in the new version, you'll need the source code.
