Help with Animation, PLEASE!

I have my model all ready and the skeleton is all done my one big problem is when i go to get a bend in the knee i use the main bone and it makes the whole model move down, how do i keep the feet where they are so they dont move.


Please Iam a real newbie, Maya Learning Edition

you just create a ik handle for the foot and parent it to a locator. this lets the foot in place as long as the skeletton allows that - if you pull too much the foot will move anyway.
