Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Egg Challenge - Habib

Hi
I finally decided about what I want to do in this challenge.
The idea is still raw but interesting.

My idea is animating some eggs that want to escape from cooking.
That will be challenging to me but it is very interesting.

I'll start the work after some thinking and sketching.

The first thing I want to model is a kitchen that events goes in it.
Probably my camera moves only in small parts of the room but I like to model little things that
may be seen.
My story goes on small desk in front of the kitchen.

I'm doing some interior modeling now.
But these are not so important because I'll put the camera just around the eggs.
Next thing i wanna do is modeling of interior of refrigerator and a lot of little elements that I needed.
May be time consuming.

I changed the decoration of my kitchen and slightly bring the necessary elements in.
It is the modelling part and shading of elements is just for presentation still.

I'v added a hand to my scene that is the main actor of my animation.
It looks like my own hand, I like it.

I skip the texturing and lighting parts for now and jump right in animation and setting up
my cameras that is most challenging parts to me.

Moving those appliances around was for the better, the sink looks a little tight in that corner but that probably isn't important though. Everything is shaping up fine here, just thought I'd be nosey.

I'm currently working on rigging my hand.
Then I will work on animating eggs and hands and setting up my cameras.

I,ll do it very soon, but I got a problem with using Pole Vector Constraint to create
a control object for the elbow.
The error is 'Handle must be valid and use rotate plane solver', I don't know what it means.
I give it up for now and continue my work.

I got it, I must used ikRPsolver instead of ikSCsolver in IK solver attribute of ikHandle.
Now I can go through skin binding and painting weights.
This is my first time that I rigg a human budy thing thus little things may be confusing to meuser added image.

Finished Hand

I finally finished the weight painting process. It was really hard to paint the weights correctly.
But It's enough for now and I want to go ahead and begin the camera setup and animation.
Lets see what happens.user added image

I'm recently finished up the first part of animation in my scene that a camera enters into kitchen and
the hand opens the door of refrigerator. not too bad.

Now I think it's time to going back to texturing, lighting and the face of eggs.

I worked on textures of my scene before actual lighting.
I tested my material using mental ray physical sun and sky.
I have a lot of work to visualize my ideas if I can.

From reading your idea in the first post it just puts the thought into my mind of 'eggyana jones' running away from a rolling cabbage of doom user added image Good luck with the animation!
