This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Big Scene Won't Open

I have created a scene in 6.5 with a gigantic model in it. Very heavy. The scene starts to load with a floating hypergraph window active in the scene and it crashes. I'm fairly certain that maya's attempt to open the app and draw this hypergraph window is what's causing the problem.

Is there a way to edit the scene file (in another app) so that the scene opens without the hypergraph (or any other floating windows for that matter)?

Thanks

Open maya close all the windows, and then try to import your model into the scene.... or drag and drop the file into maya. This should just load the model into the viewport.
