Nah, GIJoe doesn't use any spinning lights at all.

No need for them. Just a dome configuration, and it works quite well as in real life, light is coming from all directions...
(outside at least)


---1.how do you do diffuse to diffuse lighting.. is it automaticly calculated (only asking because in lightwave you have to turn on radiosy)

Not sure about MR, but with GIJoe, it does it automaticly.

If you use raytraced lights, adjust your light settings.

It can fake it.

When using GIjoe with CPS, be sure to turn off the Recieve flag on your CPS base object, or you will have shadow artifacts that doesn't belong to the scene..
