Hey how do u install mel scripts????

I;ve downlioaded a script and put it in the script folder within the maya programme directory. I boot up maya and load up the script editor, I tell the script editor that I want the mel script to be imported tot he shelfs but nothing happens

can some1 tell me wat I'm doing wrong?

From the script editor open the script
Use Ctrl + A to select the entire script
Middle mouse click and Drag the script into the shelf
