Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Not at alluser added image

Textured or untextured, no problem.

Heck, you may even have a lonely texture artist texture it for you if you feel it needs ituser added image

lets just say you create a rigid body simulation like a domino effect and the last domino falls of a table on to say a balloon which explodes the dominos would all be in maya but the balloon and the table would be live-action so it would only be the final ending that would not be simulated but it would look like the domino falling on the balloon blew it up would this be ok

Is this open to all the simply sites? I only ask because it was not posted over @ simplylightwave.

I'm interested.
Does it need to be an original idea, or is it okay if I do Mousetrap?

You know, I don't think that would be a problem at all, as I've never seen it done in cg, PLUS, to accurately do it in Maya would be a hard challenge, so go for it all!

If there is a machine out there that you wanna replicate in maya to use as your machine, or as part of your machine, whatever, go for it!

Just remember, you gotta show your progressuser added image

Good luck all!

Aaaal rightythen
I've started building some of the parts this week. Not sure if I'll build the whole thing, cuz it gets pretty tricky and I haven't been working in Maya for the last 6 months cuz I've been sick. I'll try to get some progress up on a WIP thread soon. It'll be a good way to get back on track.
