Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

My new wallpaper

It may not be high detail, but I like the way it rendered. I didn't bother to put too much detail into the toes.

Strange enough, and to a level of shame, I don't know what HDRI is. user added image But, what I did use was a plane that was about 1.5 times the size of the dog, turned up the
incandescence to a maximum level, and place it above the dog a few "technometers", if you catch my meaning user added image

Kinda like a semi HDRI!!!!

Just started to play about with HDRI's myself bu not to good measure yet!!!

Do a google on em, its lighting using final gather in mental ray but using images that project lighting information from the image onto the model. (at least thats my limited understanding of them!)

Thanks, Colin. You know, you could have gone to "search" at the top of the page if you wanted to find a certain thread by someone. user added image

Well, I kind of rigged it.... I'm sure can make it run across the screen, but I'm definitely sure that I don't have the skill to make it look good while running user added image

You mean the one in the competition forum? I'm not sure. I'm not too good at making non-fictional objects user added image
