importing .obj and reflections

I have placed imported .obj mesh shapes onto a reflecting floor in Maya. I have shaded and textured these objects (bottles with labels). They do not reflect onto the floor.

Howerver, If I create a nurbs or polugon shape in Maya and use the same shaders and textures as the .obj shapes, they do reflect off the floor as well as off each other.

Is this a limation in Maya and imported .obj files or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

Post a screenshot of the hypershade network and the material attributes.

When in doubt, delete history and freeze transformations.

in the objects attributes find the render stats tab, and check that the "visible in reflections" is turned on

if it is then post us the screen shot as benny suggested

that's a "Ch" pronounced as a "K"

Hi,

you could try selecting the object, then go to normals > reverse.

It might work,

cheers

Thank you all!

Checking visible in reflections solved the problem.
