lights dont show on character

i have referenced three characters into a new scene and created lights around them. but when i render the scene the one character doesnt show up very well in the same light that makes the other 2 characters look too bright.

why is this happening & how can i fix it?

Referencing has got better over the years with Maya but can still be flaky. Have you tried importing them in the scene instead and trying that?
