Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Thanks,

that's looks excellent, the loops flow is well beyond me. I've got a thread in the WIP entitled "My Head...", but it has the beginnings of a body there too. Any comments you could leave would be much appreciated since from that wireframe, you know how to model a body.

cheers,

gubar,

Cheers for the comments. Have re-started work on Batman, still a lot of work to be done though.

nice work leonlabyk - this is looking very cool...the only thing I would watch out for is the bulging muscles, especially in the shoulder area. user added image

Agree with Arran, shoulders are way too rounded/bulky, and also the arms, make them thinner as you look at them from the front. I like the head/mask piece a lot, very nice.

I am trying to get a very over the top look with the muscles for this one. I will try and tone them down a bit to see if I can get it closer to the reference pics.

Thanks for the comments guys it is much appreciated.

hey leonlabyk - nothing wrong with giving your batman huge muscles, but even when exagerrated there are certain points where the skin is 'stapled' to the bone - like your elbows or top of the shoulder - so no matter how big the muscle gets, it will retain a certain shape - so in your ref image, you can still see that the shoulders / deltoid still comes in where it connects to the clavicle.

Great work, but I suggest using someone like Bruce Lee as reference. Someone that's totally ripped, but anatomically correct. Your guy's so ripped that his muscles have muscles and it doesn't look as clean as I think it should; especially for a super hero. Also, you might make the front wheels a little rounder...

ahhhh I see now,

The Image you posted was a reference!

Looks like the legs are a little short on your model, I would match his proportions, legs, arms etc with some reference (theres some good freeones in this months 3d world)
